Thirteen Lives accurately retells the true story of the efforts to rescue 12 of the boys who play on the Wild Boars junior association football team in the northern Thailand province of Chiang Rai. Over the course of 18 days, many attempts to save the boys were made, with complications mounting due to rising water, strong currents, and poor conditions. The heroic efforts of those involved saved the lives of the 13 who were trapped at the cost of the lives of two of their rescuers.
Thirteen Lives was directed by Ron Howard and stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman, Pattrakorn Tungsupakul, Sukollawat Kanarot, and Sahajak Boonthanakit.
