Today, on the Goggler Podcast, Bahir and Uma give a full-throated recommendation to what might be a perfect piece of television: The Bear. In just eight episodes, running between 20 and 45 minutes, this series manages to intellectually and emotionally accomplish what other shows spend seven seasons trying to do. This is the best new television show of 2022.
The Bear is now streaming on Hulu.

Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto has inherited his family’s restaurant, The Original Beef Of Chicagoland, after the tragic death of his brother Michael. His background is in fine dining, and he was a rising star in that world, having won a James Beard Award and other recognition. What he’s finding at the family’s Italian beef joint is that everyone there is used to the traditional “system” of how things were done, and that Michael left them without a lot of cash flow.
The Bear was created by Christopher Storer and stars Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Abby Elliott.
