In a match made in culinary heaven, a chef and a food TV show producer fall in love. But then their feuding fathers challenge each other to a cook-off. The title Kongsi Raya refers to the years when the dates of Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri take place in the same period of time. This happens every 33 years due to Islamic calendar shifts. From 1996 to 1998, Chinese New Year and Hari Raya used to fall on the same week. This situation will repeat in the year 2029 where one part of this movie is set.
Kongsi Raya was directed by Teddy Chin and stars Harith Iskander, Erra Fazira, Wilson Lee, Qasrina Karim, Chew Kin Wah, and Ong Ai Leng.
