The Goggler Podcast #140: Severance

Dept. of Jibbers, Jabbers, and Yackety-Yaks

What would you do if you could truly separate your work life from your home life? What if you could undergo a process that surgically divides your memories and prevents both of those aspects of your life from ever interacting. Would you do it? Would it be morally acceptable? On today’s episode of The Goggler Podcast, Bahir and Uma watch and review Ben Stiller’s frighteningly relevant new sci-fi series: Severance.

From director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson comes Severance. Mark Scout leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Severance was directed by Ben Stiller and stars Patricia Arquette, Adam Scott, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, and Christopher Walken.
