The Afterparty is back for its second season, this time it’s at a wedding, and wouldn’t you know it, there’s been another murder! In this Goggler exclusive, we got the chance to speak to the minds behind the genre bending murder-mystery-comedy, executive producers Anthony King, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller, about writing The Afterparty, improvising on set, as well as their learnings from the first season.

You can check out our review of Season 1 here.

From Academy Award winners Chris Miller and Phil Lord, each episode of The Afterparty explores a different character’s account of one fateful evening, all told through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective. In season two, a wedding is ruined when the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect. Detective Danner returns to help Aniq and Zoë solve whodunnit by questioning family members, star-crossed lovers and business partners, and hearing each suspect’s retelling of the weekend, each with their own unique perspective and visual style.

The Afterparty was created by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and stars Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Ben Schwartz, Zoë Chao, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Dave Franco, Jamie Demetriou, and John Early.

The first two episodes of The Afterparty Season 2 are out now on Apple TV Plus.
