Leads Christian Convery and Stefania LaVie Owen Talk Their Sweet Tooth Experience

Netflix’s adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s comic book Sweet Tooth has been a breakout hit for the streamer and we recently got the chance to sit down with the show’s two young leads, Stefania LaVie Owen who plays Bear and Christian Convery who plays Gus, to talk about about their characters and how they got their roles.

Sweet Tooth is an American fantasy drama streaming television series developed by Jim Mickle. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Canadian comic book writer Jeff Lemire. On a perilous adventure across a post-apocalyptic world, a lovable boy who’s half-human and half-deer searches for a new beginning with a gruff protector. The series stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Dania Ramirez, Will Forte, and James Brolin.

Series director Jim Mickle is known for such films as Mulberry Street and Stake Land. He also developed the SundanceTV series Hap and Leonard. Beth Schwartz, on the other hand, cut her teeth on The CW’s Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, eventually serving as showrunner for the final two seasons of the former.
