Gladiator 2: We Speak to Denzel Washington!

Twenty four years later, Ridley Scott is back with a sequel to his sword-and-sandal epic, Gladiator. Gladiator 2 follows Lucius, the son of Russel Crowe’s Maximus, as he too becomes a gladiator in the twin Emperor’s Geta and Caracalla’s Colosseum, in search of revenge and honour. In this Southeast Asian exclusive, Goggler spoke to Denzel Washington about his legacy, working with Ridley Scott again, and how all things remain the same.

Gladiator 2 is out in Malaysian cinemas this Thursday, November 14.

From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator 2 continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.

Gladiator 2 is directed by Ridley Scott, written by David Scarpa, produced by Douglas Wick, Ridley Scott, Lucy Fisher, Michael Pruss, and David Franzoni. The movie stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington.
