Dream Productions: We Speak to the Series Producer and Directors!

Pixar’s brand new four episode series Dream Productions functions as a sort of interquel that takes place in between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2. In it, we are introduced to an exciting new side to Riley’s brain: the movie studio where all of her dreams are quite literally made. In this Goggler exclusive, we sat down with series producer Jaclyn Simon, and directors Valerie LaPoint and Austin Madison, to talk about who leads Riley’s mind, crafting content for adults and kids, and the complexities of making a spin off.

Dream Productions premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on 11 December.

From the world of Inside Out comes Dream Productions, an all-new Disney Plus series about the studio inside Riley’s mind where dreams really do come true—every night, on time and on budget, thanks to acclaimed director Paula Persimmon. Riley’s growing up and her core Emotions are on the job helping her navigate, but now Paula is facing a nightmare of her own: her signature combination of dreams featuring Rainbow Unicorn and copious amounts of glitter just isn’t working anymore. To try and save her career, Paula teams up with Xeni, an overly confident daydream director looking for his next big break. With differing visions on what makes Riley’s dreams successful, can the reluctant pair come together to create the next big tween-dream hit? The four episode mini series features the voice talents of Paula Pell, Richard Ayoade, Amy Poehler, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Maya Rudolph, and Ally Maki.
