Ahead of the release of the trailer for No Time To Die, the 25th entry in the James Bond series, Marvel Studios have released the teaser trailer for the first solo outing for their own super-spy, Black Widow.
Far from the cold war spy thriller that we had expected, Black Widow appears to feature plenty of super-heroics, including Scarlett Johansson skydiving through exploding debris, a Russian super-spy team up, Stranger Things‘ David Harbour squeezing himself into a garish super-hero outfit, and the first MCU appearance of longtime Marvel villain Taskmaster!
No sign of the rumoured cameo by Robert Downey Jr. yet, although we did see a de-aged William Hurt turn up as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.
What do you think? Is it too late for a Black Widow movie or is this exactly what’s needed after the immense stakes of Avengers: Endgame?
Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and is scheduled for release on May 1, 2020.
