What would you do if technology told you that you’ve found “the one?” Will you trust it with all certainty, or would you listen to your heart? That is the question that Fingernails, Apple TV Plus’ new dark, sci-fi, romance asks. In this Goggler exclusive, we sat down with Fingernails director Christos Nikou to talk about the elements that make up a cinematic love story, the movie’s setting, as well as how we plays with body horror tropes.

Fingernails is now streaming on Apple TV Plus.

Anna and Ryan have found true love. It’s been proven by a controversial new technology. There’s just one problem: Anna still isn’t sure. Then she takes a position at a love-testing institute, and meets Amir.

Fingernails is the second feature and first English-language film from visionary director/writer/producer Christos Nikou, whose directorial debut was the highly regarded Greek film, Apples. The movie stars Academy Award-nominee Jessie Buckley, Academy Award-winner Riz Ahmed, Golden Globe Award-winner Jeremy Allen White, and Luke Wilson. Fingernails is co-written by Nikou, Stavros Raptis, and Sam Steiner.
